About

Hi, busy mom!

I feel like I know you personally, even if we’ve never met face-to-face. I think you’re a lot like me, juggling the demands of life and motherhood, hoping for a few hours each week to be quiet or to express yourself through a creative pursuit.

You are searching for the right way—the best way—to make money, manage your home, and maintain your sanity.

I’ve been there. I am there.

Hey; we’re in this together.

I’m glad you’re here. I want to offer you practical help—things that you can do today—to improve your whole being: MIND, BODY, AND SOUL.

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “bloom where you are planted.” Even though it’s overused today, I think the sentiment is deeply profound. I want you to be encouraged to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way to work smarter, live better, and grow more faithful. That’s blooming where you are planted.

That’s recognizing that God has you in the exact place and position where you are supposed to be and when we recognize and embrace this, we will find God.

“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for
“‘In him we live and move and have our being’; …”
(Acts 17:26-28a ESV)

The genesis of the title of “Look In Your House” is based on the story of Elisha and the Widow’s Oil in 2 Kings 4 and is outlined here. I chose this title because it’s a constant reminder to look around you to see what God is doing, how he’s gifted you, and to what he is calling you. How is God working in your life? It’s different for everyone, but maybe you:

  • are a great photographer and want to start a side business of taking family portraits
  • love teaching and decide to homeschool your children or start a school
  • are working full-time as a journalist but decide to begin blogging for profit part-time so you can spend more time with your family

Do any of these scenarios spark anything in your imagination? How is God calling you from your current situation into something different, more creative, and more fulfilling?

Welcome, as we make this journey together!
